Notes
An exciting stash of U.S. export Armstrong Siddeley models contained in the shopkeeper’s Trade Box with original dividers. Obviously these models are the originals from the Trade Box with a fine lustre. Some tyre flat spots shows that they have been left undisturbed within the Trade Box for decades.
Two different colour issues are offered, each with coloured wheels. From 1950:
1) 3 x mid grey versions with deep blue ridged wheels, deep mid-blue interior. Intact original screens. Occasional flat spot to the smooth original black wheels.
Note one model has two extra sweeps of deeper grey paint applied (possibly factory).
2) 3 x mid-green versions with deeper green ridged wheels. Deep grey interior. Intact original screens. Two model have a couple of ‘bloomed’ spots. Occasional small mark to the paint finish.
The sturdy lift-off lid shopkeeper’s trade box is complete and presents well. Straw-coloured card with minor tarnishing to staples. Light age/storage wear. Notably, all the original dividers are still in place to avoid contact damage.
