Notes
This rare first issue example in maroon and black made between 1947-48 only. 1st type issue with maroon ridged wheels and smooth black, well-shaped original tyres. ‘Dinky Supertoys’ on the base. Shiny bolt fixing and axles held in place by tinplate clips.
Such a fine lustre to this distinctive rich finish! Spare wheel, small unpainted hook.
igh lustre and gleaming metal parts show that this model has been very carefully handled and stored.
Hard to find a mark to the paint – although close scrutiny finds some touch-ins.
The early buff box impresses with sturdy intact card and bright, complete paper labels. The card is sound showing minimal and careful handling. Rusty staples. No splits. The colours have lost none of their vibrancy. Presents very well. With correct colour spot.
