Another exceptional find from this long-standing Corgi specialist.
He informs us:
“The dark red colour (the same colour as the contemporary Corgi Ford Capri)is factory sprayed over the yellow from the outgoing model with wire wheels but has the new whizzwheels base. Gloss black bonnet and opening hatch.”
This particular version never made it past the trial stage and the version in dark orange without the black hatch was released instead.
Here is an image for comparison only with both the trial version on the left and the production version on the right. The latter is also available from this collection at time of writing.
This trial model has a black interior, jewelled headlights, spring suspension on Whizzwheels. Opening doors and boot. Complete MGC GT transfer at the rear. Includes correct black opening suitcase. Rubbing to chrome in places and a few small marks to the paint finish.
Crisp and complete window box has light wear only. Intact card inner. Intact cellophane window.
