Dinky Toys Gift Set 12 Postal Set

This precious early Dinky Gift Set was issued 1937-41 and is a particularly difficult find.
This set comprises:

1) 12a GPO Pillar Box, in red with a white panel and yellow ’POST OFFICE" sign on top. A little chipping and tiny crazing. Tiny portion missing.

2) 12b Air Mail Pillar Box, in blue with white panel. Light crazing and a little chipping as you might expect.

3) 12c Telephone Call Box, in cream, silver and red. Light crazing and minor paint marking.

4) 12d Telegraph Messenger in deep blue. Expected marking at some exposed points etc.

5) 12e Postman in deep blue with brown postal bag. Tiny marking.

6) 34b Royal Mail Van. Earliest issue in red and black with open rear windows. Smooth black hubs. Some scattered chipping commensurate with the age, minor crazing and smooth white tyres (a little age wear).

Deep yellow insert is bright and complete. Light pen mark and a small tear.
Slim lift-off lidded blue box is a pleasing example with no seam splits or repairs.

Most of the blue string remaining which keeps the items in place on the inner.
Minor ‘bubbling’ to the paper covering. A little age wear but less than you might expect for a box of this age.
Looks as it it has been tucked away in a drawer for decades!
