Notes
A rare early Dinky Gift set and a difficult find in any condition. Issued between 1935-41.
This set comprises:
1) Dinky 44a A.A. Box. Black and yellow highly detailed tinplate box with signature A.A. badge and intact delicate direction signs on the roof. Highly decorative piece from this era. Light wear and note that one small section has a tarnished section due to prolonged contact with the box.
2) Dinky 44b Motor Cycle Patrol. Earliest issue (1935-40) with more detailing to the tan rider, and intact solid white rubber wheels. A little light chipping/rubbing. Some light crazing.
3) Dinky 44c A.A. Guide lead cast figure in tan. Very near mint figure directing the traffic. Delightful with original (factory) hand painted detailing.
4) Dinky 44d A.A. Guide lead cast figure in tan. Saluting figure. Finished in tan with original hand painted detailing (factory).
Colourfully illustrated inner card background which is sound and bright. Colours are strong. LIght age wear/marking.
Lift-off lid powder blue box is complete.
Some rubbing/wear. Seam tear to a lid corner. Note printing detail on one short lid end.
