Austin-Healey '100' Sports by Dinky Toys, No. 109. Deeper orange-yellow version. Rare late issue with Racing Number 28. Very near mint/boxed. Rare PLAIN box! From The Reference Collection of fine Dinky. Starting bid £300. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Scarce late issue version of the Austin-Healey Sports model with an intense deeper orange-yellow finish, blue interior and matching wheels, metal driver, intact windscreen. Rare to find this model with racing number ‘28’. Note this late issue version has no ‘background’ to the racing number. Correct that this model has treaded tyres and no number on the baseplate (Dinky 103 was already in production at this time). Rear lights.
Fine silver trim.
Shiny base and well-shaped original tyres (mix of treaded and smooth – we expect as issued, using up the last of the smooth tyres).
Small mark to the paint finish (mere tiny mark or two besides) and and the tiniest nick to one of the racing numbers.
The scarce plain card box is complete and bright, showing light wear.
