Dinky Toys 289 Routemaster Bus 'YELLOW PAGES'

Attention all Dinky and Bus Collectors! This is a rare find, the YELLOW PAGES promotional Bus – a unique find as a Routemaster. The model went into production as Dinky 295 Leyland Atlantean Bus (1973-74) and is a particularly rare find by this specialist Bus collector.
Finished in brilliant yellow with complete ‘YELLOW PAGES’ labels on both sides, front and back. Smaller ‘LONDON TRANSPORT’ labels in red on both sides too. Shiny detailed cast wheels and well-shaped black treaded tyres.

Bright yellow seating downstairs, cream upstairs. Window glazing, driver & conductor.
Few minor marks to the paint finish.

Another Dinky specialist collector also recalls:

“Years ago, in the early ’80’s, I met someone who knew several Dinky reps. from Binns Road and he showed me a photo of this model. This version never made it past this early stage. In the photo, they also had a mock-up of the box. I recall seeing other Atlanteans in various liveries – these never went into production either”.

Brightly-coloured card plinth has light wear and marking from where the tyres have rested for a prolonged period over the years. Original bubble lid is complete with both formed short end tabs which secure the lid to the card plinth. Couple of splits (common fault) and tiny ‘yellowing’.
