Dinky Toys 251 Aveling-Barford Diesel Roller

Notes

This is the early version of the Aveling-Barford Diesel Roller in deeper green finish with red rollers and note the red ‘badge’ detail head-on which is a feature of the early issue.

Bright baseplate. It appears there was a little ‘misfiring’ of the original rivet in the factory and a dab of black factory paint was applied at this site.
Occasional little mark to the paint and note two little retouches.
The pictorial card box is the early version in deep yellow with the product picture on the vertical faces of the box, another version has the pictures on the side panels. Complete, brightly-coloured and without tears or graffiti. Minor age grubbiness and light handling wear.
Nice to see it complete with the brown card wrap-around packing piece.
