Notes
Issued between 1946-47, this is an exciting model of the MG in which Major Gardner reached speeds of over 200 miles per hour in 1939_.
This example has a fine sheen to the paint finish with an intact and original MG transfer on the bonnet and Union Jack labels at the sides.
Bright lacquered baseplate too with ‘MG Magnette’ on the base:
Black ridged wheels, and smooth black original tyres are misshapen now (unsurprisingly).
Minor mark or two to the original paint finish. No fatigue. Not an easy find in this condition.
This early example was issued in this vivid yellow lift-off lidded card box with printed detail and information regarding the Gardner’s Record Car. Dated September, 1939. Light wear only.
One of the best surviving early issue examples.
