Dinky Toys 60K Percival Gull
Percival Gull by Dinky Toys, No. 60K. Very near mint/boxed . Very scarce Mr. H. L. Brook example. An early Dinky model from The Heart of England Collection.
Notes
A First for QDT! This is a model of the aeroplane fr=lown by Mr. H. L Brook. He famously flew a Percival Gull Six (G-ADZO), previously used by Amy Johnson, to set a record from Cape Town to Heston in May 1937. Issued between 1936-41, this particular version has a fine original blue and silver finish, with a bare metal intact propellor and complete lettering in black on the shiny tinplate wings. Fine original metal wheels turn well. Aircraft measures a mere 53mm from tip to tail.
Such a delightful early Dinky model, it is hard to resist it – such fine condition too!
Tiny area of fatigue on the underside.
The uncharitable eye will find the occasional negligible mark. The bright yellow lift-off lid box is complete with no tears or graffiti. Light wear.
One to treasure!
