Dinky 10 Pontiac R.C.M.P. Car

A Dinky curiosity – and probably one of a kind! This Pontiac Parisienne Police vehicle was made between 1969-74. Always presented in a card picture box, this example came to us from a collector in New Zealand who in turn purchased it in Japan.
We believe this may be a proposed box version for export and was not put into full production. A shelved project perhaps. We have never seen another here at QDT.
The production model was issued under the numbering 252 throughout its production run (1969-74).
The model has an original deep blue paint finish, red light on the roof and intact retractable twin aerials (so often they snap off – nice to see them complete). They can be extended and retracted by using the switches on the base, but we are reluctant to do so, since they can often break during this operation. White front doors on both sides with intact RCMP Crests, Mountie figure is driving. Cast wheels.
Few minor marks to the paint finish.

Note the intriguing Dinky numbering (No. 10) on the bright and complete card Roadway which in turn fits over the yellow hard plastic base. Few tiny marks to the card roadway where the tyres rest. Note this model does not have the formed apertures on the underside in order to secure it firmly to the yellow plastic base. This supports the assertion that this was a shelved project.
