Dinky Toys No. 1 Station Staff
Station Staff by Dinky Toys, No. 1. Scarce pre-war set from January, 1939. Very, very near mint/boxed. From The 25 Year Collection in California. QDT starting bid £175. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
A delightful and unused set of six station figures, each with a nicely detailed, remarkably fresh original paint finish. Each one is strung to a colourful scenic card backdrop. This early set of figures from Dinky (each approximately 35mm. tall).
Colourful card scene to which each figure is strung is in exceptional, fresh state . Virtually mint- mint! Remarkable, unused condition.
The green lift-off lid box is brightly coloured with no graffiti. Little storage crumple and paper split in one small area (card is still intact at this site). Little corner scuff nearby.
Note the red U.S. export label on one lid end (complete, with very slight fading).
Box base gives up another of its secrets: the new York toyshop REISS BROTHERS in which it was sold!
