Notes
An all original example of this popular Dinky model, issued between 1948-52. This is the first issue from 1948 presented in the earliest buff box, the model has a small unpainted hook (partly sheared off)and is marked ‘Supertoys’ on the base. Vivid red cab and chassis, fawn tank and silver flash. Most attractive early herringbone tyres (although one has been replaced with a radial tyre; spare is herringbone however), 20 mph sign at rear, tinplate ladders.
Several chips at cab roof edge rear edge of tank, front bumper and wheel arches. A couple of small dents to the end cap of the tank. Bright baseplate and axles.
The buff box is sound with no splits with a vividly-coloured paper label. A little neat writing at the top edge of the lid and rusty staples. Some graffiti to the underside of the box base.
