Notes
This eye-catching Dinky commercial marks the transtion from 504 to 941 during 1954. This model bears all the features of the first issue i.e. red filler caps on the roof, grey tyres.
In excellent condition throughout, with a vibrant red paint finish, 2nd type cab and intact black ladder and red filler caps. None of the usual corrosion to the tank. Transfers are rather rubbed in places and one can see that little dabs of white paint have been added to cover little nicks in the transfers. Original grey tyres including the spare. Couple of dabs to the red paint finish too.
Only the lid of the dual-numbered (transition) box is present now, which is bright and free of graffiti and with barely any of the usual rubbing at edges. Some light pink staining however.
Still a very good display piece – and of course, offered at a mere fraction of the cost of a mint/boxed example.
