D413
Dinky 413 Austin Covered Wagon. Exceptionally rare issue in BROWN with a FAWN canopy. Very near mint/in correct brown spot box. From a specialist Dinky collection in the North of England.
Notes
The first we have ever handled – this is an extremely rare Dinky commercial truck and seldom comes to the market place. We are delighted to offer this Austin Covered Wagon finished in lustrous brown with a stone/fawn canopy, matching wheels!
Indeed, this is the first correct example we have ever seen – others we have seen have been fitted with a tan canopy from the maroon model and in incorrectly-spotted boxes.
In lovely close to perfect condition, looking like old shop stock. On close inspection, you will find a couple of little marks at one side (one on a wheel arch edge and another on the bottom edge of the truck side). The roof has a little rough casting so there are a few paint blemishes, as well as a little touch-in/possible factory retouch. Another rough casting mark on one door.
The correct box is extremely fresh and crisp with no tears or repairs. Correct ‘in the print’ brown (not red or maroon) colour spot. Shopkeeper’s period pencilled price at an end flap.
Surley one of the best examples you will ever see of one of the rarest Dinky commercials.
