Dinky 440 Tanker 'Mobilgas'. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce. Early issue. From a prime Dinky collection in the North of England.
Notes
A classic sought-after Dinky Studebaker Tanker (early issue 1954-58) in outstanding condition with a beautiful original paint finish. Day one vivid sheen is just outstanding!
‘Mobilgas’ lettering has not rubbed or chipped in any way – although do note that the vertical stroke of the letter ‘b’ on one side has folded over on itself (as applied at the factory). Beautiful detailed transfer at the rear.
Bright baseplate:
Little rub to one of the silver domes on the roof (box contact), and a very minor rub on the cab roof. Small area of rough casting at a door post. Couple of little dots besides.
The fine, fresh condition of the box belies its age – so vivid clean, crisp and bright – none better! Tiniest age wear only.
