D500
Dinky White Metal Model of the Albion Tanker 'Milk Marketing Board'. Very near mint/never boxed. Based on a Dinky toy scale drawing. Extremely rare model from a toy collection in the North of England.
Notes
In 1951, Dinky planned to put into production an Albion Milk Tanker. It never went into full production, however. Scale drawings were made as well as a wooden sample piece in July 1951, (wooden sample piece was painted dark green).
Much later, a white metal model was made (1990’s) by an ex-employee of the Dinky factory – and this is one of these!
Few very minor marks only, and a dab of slightly darker green paint at a wheel arch.
This is a well-constructed model, with a real Dinky feel.
Exceptionally scarce item, and what a talking point in a commercial Dinky collection!
